The IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships in Otepää, from August 22nd to 25th, feature an entertainment program with a wide range of activities and experiences for all ages. Performers at the event will include Põhja-Tallinn, nublu, and Curly Strings.
Tehvandi Sports Center will open to visitors at 9:00 AM on each competition day. “We invite spectators to bring their entire families to the IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships, as there will be activities for all ages, whether before, during, or after the events,” said Aivar Nigol, Chairman of the Organizing Committee. Attendees will have the chance to try laser shooting and participate in sports games. Additionally, the Lemmikmees sauna area will be open, and children can enjoy the Vembutaja trampoline, adventure course, as well as the Farmi and Balbiino kids' zones. Visitors can also explore the Otepää Winter Sports Museum and the viewing platform of the Tehvandi ski jump tower.
Jüri Muttika and Tom Erik Luoma-Aho, along with the TantsuGeen dance girls, will keep everyone's spirits high. Legendary stadium announcers Margus Ader and Riho Järveläinen, as well as internationally acclaimed commentator Kjell-Erik Kristiansen, will provide commentary on the events. “Nearly 300 athletes from 30 countries have registered for the competition, promising the audience plenty of memorable sports experiences,” added Nigol. The races can be followed from both the shooting range grandstand and the course.
In the evenings, several beloved Estonian artists will perform as part of the Summer Biathlon World Championships. On Thursday evening, accordionist Kulno Malva will kick off the concert series at the KUUR venue in Otepää. On Friday, Põhja-Tallinn and their band will take the stage in the park of the Otepää Cultural Center. On Saturday, Nublu and Curly Strings will give a lakeside concert at Pühajärv Beach. “Entry to the concerts is free for all Competition Pass holders,” said Nigol.
